ASU Prep Digital is creating new possibilities and helping high school students get ahead by combining the flexibility of digital learning with immersive, hands-on experiences.
The new IDIA Hive location at the Tempe EnVision Center provides students with access to cutting-edge technology, project-based learning and career-focused pathways—all designed to help them tackle real-world challenges and thrive in high school, college and beyond.
What is ASU Prep Digital+?
An innovative hybrid program
ASU Prep Digital+ is an innovative hybrid program for students in grades 9–12, designed to bridge the gap between high school and higher education. By blending online coursework with real-world, project-based learning, the program equips students with critical 21st-century skills, allowing them to earn tuition-free college credit while exploring their academic and professional interests.
A network of hybrid learning spaces, ASU Prep Digital+ gives students the flexibility to choose a location that aligns with their interests and goals. Each site offers unique opportunities tailored to different career pathways and areas of focus.
“At ASU Prep Digital+, students gain real-world experience through hands-on, collaborative learning,” explains Trista Zobitz, Director of ASU Prep Digital+.
What is ASU Prep Digital+ at IDIA Hive?
A hub for creativity, innovation and technology
The IDIA Hive is one of several ASU Prep Digital+ locations, specifically designed to inspire creativity and foster innovation. This location emphasizes technology-driven learning, equipping students with the tools and experiences to explore their passions and develop real-world skills.
At The Hive, students have access to cutting-edge tools, including iPads and MacBooks, VR headsets, podcasting stations, 3D printers, robotics kits and stop-motion equipment. These resources empower students to solve real-world challenges using advanced technology.
“Through project-based learning, students take on real-world challenges and use professional-grade technology to design, create and problem-solve,” says Zobitz.
Career pathways at The Hive
The Hive’s hands-on experiences are directly tied to in-demand career pathways, including:
- Creative industries: Filmmaking, digital storytelling, graphic design, podcast production and animation
- Technology and cybersecurity: Coding, AI and safe online practices
- Entrepreneurship and business: Branding, digital marketing and product development
- Aerospace and advanced manufacturing: Prototyping and engineering concepts

Students interested in registering, who are not currently ASU Prep Digital students, enroll at ASU Prep Digital. Then choose ASU Prep Digital+ and the site you wish to attend.
Current ASU Prep Digital students should complete our Digital+ registration form.
