I have many different things that I enjoy doing outside of ASU Prep. I usually spend my time outside of ASU Prep on my responsibilities and on my hobbies. I think it is important to tend to your responsibilities because if you do not, then it can have consequences. My hobbies are important to me because they give me an outlet to express myself and my ideas. I think this connects to who I am because a part of who a person is has to do with how they spend their free time.
One thing I do outside of ASU Prep is digital art. I like drawing pictures digitally a good amount. Drawing in general is something I do pretty often, but I would say I draw digitally at least once a week. This adds meaning to my life because it gives me something to do that I enjoy and can improve in. Another thing I do outside of ASU Prep is guitar. I practice guitar every week. This adds meaning to my life because it allows me to pursue something that I am interested in.
I usually start the week by planning what I am going to do for the day or week. If I have something scheduled for the week, then I will attend it. When it comes to my hobbies, though, I do not really have schedules for them. There are some days where I work toward them, and some days where I do not. I have learned things about setting priorities through balancing my school life and my life outside of school. I do not have time to do everything I want to do, so I have to choose between activities, selecting the ones that are most important and that I want to do most. Attending ASUPD can help me have a more flexible schedule.
What you do outside of class can have a lot of impact, and can even impact your chance of getting into college. If you want to get involved in the community, I recommend choosing something that you are interested in and want to get into, and creating a schedule and sticking to it to the best of your ability.
