This session focuses on the ways in which blended learning teachers can create, cultivate, and sustain relationships. Provided in this session are exemplar schools and their strategies that teachers can implement the very next day.

This session provides participants with tools and strategies to help teachers shift to tracking student mastery that focuses on competency of skills. Teachers will learn best practices and strategies to monitor student progress.

This session will provide participants with a host of tech tools to use in blended learning models, as well as specific strategies to implement these tools.

BLLE03 – Best Practices in Blended Learning for Curricular Areas

This customizable session allows participants to learn best practices for blended learning in specific Content areas, including but not limited to: Elementary Generalists, Special Education, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and History, World Languages, Fine and Performing Arts, and Electives. In addition to best practices, teachers will learn technology tools to best support blended learning.

CTDE02 – Academic Integrity & Discussion Based Assessments

In this training, participants will learn about the importance of academic integrity in the online environment. Participants will learn about the best practices for establishing a culture and clear steps for intervention and model strategies to assess students in a plagiarism-free manner.

This training covers best practices for how to create videos or other activities for students in your class.

CUSU08 – Book Clubs in Virtual and Hybrid Learning

In this session, participants will learn the ways in which to effectively implement book clubs in virtual or remote learning models. The session will provide insight into tools and strategies for teachers to use with students to ensure effective collaboration and engagement with texts.

CUSU07 – Implementing a Writer’s Workshop in Virtual and Hybrid Learning

This session will provide participants with strategies and ideas to implement a writer’s workshop in a virtual or hybrid learning model. Teachers will learn about tools to use with students to monitor and track progress and collaboration.

CUSU06 – Keeping Students Physically Active in Virtual and Hybrid Learning (K-5)

Participants should be prepared to get up and moving while learning about strategies to keep students active during virtual and hybrid learning models. This session will provide strategies and tools to keep students physically active.

CUSU05 – Integrating Fine and Performing Arts in Virtual and Hybrid Learning (K-5)

This session provides elementary teachers with tools and strategies to continue arts education in virtual or hybrid learning models. The session will equip teachers with ideas and strategies to provide hands-on/minds-on activities emphasizing fine and performing arts in conjunction with curricular concepts.

CUSU04 – Investigating the New AZ Social Studies Standards

In this session, participants will examine the newly adopted AZ state standards for social studies education. Teachers will examine how the standards are banded and build upon one another to incorporate an emphasis on social studies instruction. This session is customized to meet the needs of K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 teachers.

CUSU03 – Integrating STEM in Virtual or Hybrid Learning

This session will provide opportunities for participants to explore the ways in which STEM connects to curricular standards and tools and strategies to engage in high-interest STEM learning activities, regardless if students are fully virtual or in hybrid learning models. This session is customized to meet the needs of K-5 and 6-12 teachers.

CUSU02 – Standards for Mathematical Practice

Educators of math, at all levels, should promote critical thinking, proven processes, and habits of mind using the 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice. In this session, we will explore and discuss each standard together, and identify strategies and tech tools to facilitate the incorporation of each standard into practice. This session is customized to meet the needs of K-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

This session will provide support for teachers to implement individual or small group reading intervention strategies in virtual or hybrid learning models, specifically focusing on differentiation strategies and how to engage students using technology tools. This session is customized to meet the needs of K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 teachers.

EDSU03 – Teaching Time Management and Stress Management

In this training, participants will learn how teachers and support staff can set up practices in communication and course structure to help students manage time and stress. Participants will learn best practices for supporting learners in these areas.

EDSU02 – The Power of Interventionists

This session details the integral work that interventionists and other certified non-classroom educators provide for schools, whether it is a data interventionist or reading specialist. In addition to understanding the vital work of these educators, this session will provide insights into tools and strategies interventionists can use to target and support all students.

EDSU01 – Counselors as School Leaders

Counselors provide an integral role at schools, regardless if students are full in-person or if all students are learning virtually. This session will equip counselors with the skills necessary to burgeon as school leaders to support students and teachers.

INST21 – Ensuring Quality Online Courses, Teaching & Transitions

This training reviews the standards that are recognized worldwide for best practices in online teaching and course design. Participants will examine areas to address first when making the transition to online learning.

INST20 – Station Rotations

Participants will learn how station rotations can work to ensure time with smaller groups of students either at home, in the classroom, or a combination of both. Participants will leave with useful lesson planning tools for this strategy.

INST19 – Playlists & HyperDocs

Participants will learn about playlists and HyperDocs as tools for managing and organizing student learning in any environment and how they can ensure each learner’s needs are met. We will include many examples across grade level and content areas. Participants will leave with useful planning tools and templates for this strategy.

INST18 – Flipped Classroom

Participants will learn about the popular concept of flipped classroom but with a “refreshed” look at how the strategy fits in any learning environment for any aged learner. We will share some of the best tools for implementation.

INST15 – Supporting Students’ Social and Emotional Learning in a Virtual Environment

This training reviews the foundational concepts of social and emotional learning and how it is applied in the classroom, and then delves into tools and strategies teachers can use to promote social and emotional awareness with students.

INST14 – Project Based Learning in a Virtual or Hybrid Learning

In this in-depth training, participants will review a conceptual understanding of project based learning before taking a deep dive into how to apply project based learning in virtual or hybrid settings. Included in this session is time for participants to begin the planning process with support from the facilitators.

INST13 – Introduction to Project Based Learning

This training shares a conceptual overview of project based learning and how this pedagogical strategy engages students in authentic learning experiences.

INST12 – Providing Quality Feedback as an Online Teacher

This training shares best practices that teachers can implement to ensure that feedback is timely, meaningful, and promotes student growth and achievement.

INST11 – Connecting with Reluctant Learners

In this training, participants will learn strategies to engage with all students, even those who are most reluctant to participate in synchronous or asynchronous learning.

In this training, participants will learn best practices for how to engage and communicate with students in the online environment.

INST09 – Monitoring Student Progress

This training covers how to use the LMS (Learning Management System) to manage data, analyze student progress, and locate indicators that reflect students’ needs.

INST08 – Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners

In this training, participants will learn how to best work with individual students to address their learning needs. Participants will also explore available tools to support students with diverse needs.

This training covers how to create pace charts based on course requirements, standard assessments, and how to utilize pace charts to manage learning outcomes.

This training provides participants with an understanding of the fundamental principles of online curriculum design and how to structure effective courses in the digital learning environment.

INST02 – Thriving as a Digital, Hybrid or Flex Model Teacher

In this training, participants will learn about different blended learning models and learn how to implement various strategies in any learning environment. By the end of this training participants will feel confident implementing new practices of station rotations, playlists or flipped classroom strategies into instruction, implementing best practices during synchronous sessions, and using technology to engage students and encourage collaboration.

In this training, participants will learn about best practices in online teaching and how to transition to new models of instruction. Positive school culture is an essential part of running a successful school. This session delves into the mechanics of creating a positive community and how to sustain a cohesive community in a variety of learning modes.

Leaders require support in order to support their schools. This training will provide leaders with the tools necessary to feel supported and, in turn, effectively support all employees.

Balancing observations and effective evaluations of teachers is an essential aspect to school leadership. This session provides strategies for leaders to support the planning and implementation of observation and evaluation cycles.

In this training, participants will learn how to build a social presence in their online classroom. Just as there is an art to teaching in a brick-and-mortar classroom, there is a craft to building a presence in a digital classroom. In part two of this training, participants will dive deeper into grading and features to make the teacher experience more efficient and the learner’s experience more engaging. Participants will also learn about tools that integrate into Canvas.

This training covers essential parts of a home page and how it is used to help learners navigate, create classroom management, and build social presence.

This training can be customized to meet Web 2.0 tool implementation needs of participants. Options include, but are not limited to: slide deck enhancers (e.g.: Pear Deck, EdPuzzle, NearPod), online polling (e.g.: MentiMeter, Poll Everywhere), engagement tools (e.g.: Padlet, Bitmoji, Quizizz, Kahoot, Flipgrid), and screencasting tools (e.g.: Loom, ScreenCastify).

TECH02 – Web 2.0 Tools

This training covers best practices in online teaching including how to use tools that allow students to collaborate with teachers, peers, and content in an innovative and interactive way. Participants will learn about our favorite tools and tricks for engaging students.
