Academic Enrichment Programs

When student curiosity is ignited, their learning knows no bounds. Our selection of academic enrichment programs let students join small groups that dive deep into learning areas of their choice, advancing their subject knowledge, building their confidence, and increasing their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Accelerated Programs
Accelerated Programs

Students can get ahead with accelerated math programs that allow them to work at the next level. 6-12 students have the flexibility to work ahead in their courses allowing for acceleration and enrichment. We have a robust K-5 gifted program to make sure we are meeting the needs of our highest level learners.

Students in grades 6-12 can get a little help from their friends—peer tutors offer weekly support in math, language arts, science, and social studies.

Learning with Your LSC

All students have the opportunity to work with their LSC to ensure the best possible academic outcome. LSCs host informative homerooms that allow students to interact with each other, get to know their LSC, and engage with important learning topics. LSCs also offer opportunities for fun and fellowship. Many sponsor clubs, offer read alouds, have fun Fridays, and even cook with the students.

Students can work at an accelerated pace in math, with the help of software that offers a personalized learning path. We offer a K-5 Gifted Program that allows our gifted learners to work, learn and grow together.
Spark Time
Spark Time allows students and teachers to work in a more personalized setting, ensuring students have their academic needs met to enhance their learning experience.
Learning Together
At ASUPD students have the opportunity to work together and make friends in clubs and learning pods. Learning Pods give students the opportunity to get together for academics, friendship and fun either in person or digitally! We offer a variety of clubs each year for students to join to share their interests with each other and make friends.

NJHS 5th Grade Buddy Program (K-8)
Students in the National Junior Honor Society answer questions and prepare 5th grade students for the transition to middle school.
NJHS Middle School Buddy Program (K-8)
Students in 7th grade get matched with an 11th grade peer mentor who provides support and guidance throughout the school year.
Peer Tutoring (6-12)
High school peer tutors provide weekly support for those in grades 6-12 in math, language arts, science, and social studies.

Participate in an engaging read aloud during the lunch hour while enhancing reading skills and sharing stories.
Character Education Read Aloud & Cooking (4-5)
This program is all about character education and fostering a love for literacy. Each session includes a unique recipe snack suggestion to enjoy.

MS Club

New Student Orientation 6-12

Our Learning Success Coaches provide a week-long orientation course prior to the start of academic courses. This helps students acclimate to the digital environment, learn strategies to become successful online learners, and find community with new classmates. Lessons are taught daily via Zoom, with assigned coursework that is submitted via our Learning Management System. Topics include:

New Student Orientation K–5

For new students in grades K-5, our LSC team will provide an orientation during the first week start of classes. The New Student Orientation will take place on Wednesday, August 11th during the LSC Homeroom. The intention of New Student Orientation is to help students acclimate to the digital environment, learn strategies to become successful online learners, and find community with new classmates. We cover topics such as:
