Naveya Cadman is the kind of student who makes a school community stronger just by being part of it. A senior at ASU Prep Digital from Maricopa, Arizona, Naveya has built her high school experience around leadership, service and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
With a 4.5 GPA and a long list of roles and online extracurricular activities, she has become a familiar and trusted presence to students and staff alike. From welcoming new students to tutoring classmates and leading student groups, Naveya shows what it looks like to stay committed, work hard and give back at the same time.
Her story is not just about what she has achieved. It is about how she shows up every day, and how that steady effort has shaped both her own journey and the community around her.
Naveya’s involvement at ASU Prep Digital started early and grew stronger each year. As a ninth grader, she joined Student Government and served on the strategic planning committee. She also volunteered with Read Across America, supporting schoolwide efforts and helping younger students feel encouraged and included.
In tenth grade, she took on new responsibilities as a peer tutor and a member of the Finance Club. These roles gave her the chance to work closely with classmates, build confidence and continue developing the leadership skills she would use throughout high school.
From the beginning, Naveya did more than sign up for activities. She committed to them. She looked for ways to be useful, reliable and present. That mindset would define the rest of her time at ASU Prep Digital.
Naveya is a very dedicated student who gives countless hours of her time to our school community. In addition, Naveya is legally blind and uses her glasses, large monitors and a magnifying glass screen tool to balance her excellent academic abilities and extracurricular activities successfully. I would wholeheartedly nominate Naveya Cadman for any scholarship opportunity she qualifies for.”
Alongside her leadership and service, Naveya has maintained an exceptional academic record, earning a 4.5 GPA and recently completing all requirements for the Financial Literacy Seal. This reflects both her work ethic and her long-term mindset.
Balancing advanced coursework with such deep involvement in student life takes discipline and time management skills. For Naveya, this includes navigating her studies while being legally blind. Utilizing tools like large monitors and magnifying screen software, she has mastered the art of adaptation and refuses to let anything get in the way of her goals.
Whether she is tutoring another student, helping plan a seminar, giving feedback on club simulations or leading group projects in National Honor Society, Naveya brings the same thoughtful approach. Listen first. Work hard. Follow through.
The flexibility has helped me grow as a student and leader. I can structure my day as I want, spend time with my family and tackle extracurriculars all in the comfort of my home.”
ASU Prep Digital has given Naveya the flexibility and opportunity to grow not only as a student but also as a leader. Through clubs, committees, tutoring and ambassador work, she has had space to explore her interests, build confidence and take on real responsibility within her school community.
Her work with Freshman Seminar and New Student Orientation, in particular, reflects her commitment to helping others feel welcome, prepared and supported, especially students who are just beginning their high school journey.
That ripple effect matters. When students like Naveya step into leadership, they do more than strengthen their own skills. They help shape the culture of the school.
By her junior year, Naveya had become a central part of the student experience. As a member of Student Ambassadors, she helped lead Freshman Seminar presentations and supported New Student Orientation. Her goal was simple: She wanted new students to feel welcomed, confident and ready for what came next.
She also continued serving as a Peer Tutor, stayed active in the Finance Club and earned induction into the National Honor Society. Balancing academics with leadership took effort and planning, but Naveya never treated it as a checklist. She saw each role as a chance to make school better for someone else.
Whether she was helping a classmate understand an assignment or supporting a group project, she brought the same calm focus and follow-through every time.
Now a senior, Naveya continues to lead with the same energy and care. She serves as a Student Ambassador and leads the Freshman Seminar committee, helping shape how new students experience their first year. She also participates in Model UN and serves on a special activity design committee, where she offers thoughtful feedback on simulations and club activities.
This year, she also stepped into an even bigger role as Peer Tutor President. In that position, she helps guide other tutors while continuing to support students one-on-one. Through National Honor Society, she leads group project planning and helps keep service efforts organized and on track.
Outside of her regular activities, Naveya looks for ways to support the wider community. In Fall 2025, she participated in Feed My Starving Children and helped lead school spirit efforts during the pep rally. Each role reflects the same pattern: Showing up, helping and following through.
Naveya’s journey shows that leadership is built through consistency. It grows through small choices made every day. It shows up in tutoring sessions, planning meetings and moments when someone needs help and you decide to step in.
From her first year in Student Government to her role today as Peer Tutor President and Student Ambassador, she has created a high school experience rooted in service, effort and care for others.
Her story is a reminder that when students are given the space to grow and the chance to lead, they do more than succeed. They make their communities stronger.
