What I do Outside of Class

By Amiya Austin

Outside of school, I do a few things. I play with my dog, exercise, play video games, and write. It is important to me because it is what I enjoy doing, and I find these things to be fun. It connects to who I am because it is what I enjoy doing.

One main thing I do outside of class is exercise. I exercise by walking on the treadmill for however long I want to. Usually, it is between one and two hours, and I do it every day. It adds meaning to my life because I find it really enjoyable, and it is part of my daily routine.

Another thing I do outside of class is write stories. I normally work on stories three times a week, and I have mainly written short stories. I am currently working on a longer story. It adds meaning to my life because I enjoy writing and like creating stories. It also helps with my writing skills and helps me come up with new ideas.

I mainly do these things after school, so there is not really any planning I have to do. The most planning I have done is deciding when to write some of my stories. I have learned a lot about time management and setting priorities, as I know that both are important to reaching your goals. Being at ASUPD gives me a lot of room to make more time for these things.

Always remember that doing things outside of school is very important. You cannot just work on school stuff, as doing what you like shapes you. Be sure to explore your interests and build a schedule that works for you, as it can help you learn more about yourself.
