Celebrating Valentine’s Day

By: Taegan Hardy

I would be lying if I told you I wasn’t a sucker for Valentines Day. I don’t have a partner, but I stilllove the holiday. Eating candies and dressing in red is something I can always look forward to,and this year I can anticipate a little more. Mercedes launch their new 2024 F1 car on the 14thwhich is in my opinion, a little Valentines gift from the team. I also plan to watch a Valentineshorror movie, binge some Heartstopper, and buddy read a romcom with a good friend.I’m a strong believer that even if you’re single, you can have fun celebrating this cheesy holiday. Here’s a couple of ideas on how to spend Valentines Day when you’re single:
1. Buy Yourself Something! (If you can)Whether it be flowers or chocolates, you should treat yourself to something.
2. Watch a RomComIt’s a tradition to watch a romcom on Vday. My personal favorite is 10 Things I Hate About You.
3. Celebrate With FriendsOne of my long distance best friends and I decided to become Valentines this year. We’re goingto mail some things to each other and buddy read a book together. If you have friends near byyou could meet up at a mall, park, or restaurant.
4. Bake SomethingMy go to sweet will always be cookies and my mom makes some amazing peanut butterchocolate ones. You can find the recipe here:https://www.hersheyland.com/recipes/peanut-butter-blossoms.html(You can adjust the kind of peanut butter, flour, sugar, etc. based on your preferences/allergies.)
I’ve also created a small playlist for the special occasion:-valentine – laufey-falling behind – laufey-ceilings – lizzy mcalpine-foolish one – taylor swift-i wanna be yours – arctic monkeys-feels like – gracie abrams-my love mine all mine – mitski-someone new – hozier-glue song – beabadoobee

Happy Valentines Day!
