How I Prepare For Tests

By Caitlin Cruz

While I do think testing is important I don’t think it’s make or break. But I do hate that tests make up so much of our grades since not everyone is great with tests. Like for example me, I constantly over think my tests and end up getting low scores because I over think answers.

Now my way I get ready for a test may be different from yours but one method doesn’t work for all. So I start the process by taking the review first where it’s a kahoot, booklet, or quizlet. The first time I do it I just guess on all the answers to see what the test may have in it. Then I do it again to see what I may need to look at before starting the real tests. Then I pull out all of the notes I have leading up to this tests. I also wait for the live lesson for the class with the test because the teachers normally go over it in a helpful way. The outside of the things I can do for school. The day I have the test I make sure to just have a similar day to any other day. I need my routines or I will explode.💥 Which normally concise of getting up at 5am to help my mom get ready for work, then which she leaves I put on Caseoh and play some roblox. Then at 7am I eat breakfast and start doing school. Also while i’m not superstitious I do have a bracelet that says “We must be willing to let go of the life we’ve planned to have the life that is waiting for us” – Joseph Campbell. I’m convinced that the bracelet gives me good luck, so I always make sure I’m wearing it.

I do all this so that way I can understand the basics of what I’m doing. Otherwise my brain begins to think 1+1 may equal 3. I learned this method kind of on my own through trial and error. Also, just figuring more out about myself and what helps me be successful.

Testing may be scary at first as it seems it is the end all be all of life. But we must remember there is more to a human than how smart they are or how well they did on a test. Also, even if you are the smartest person in the world, you will be alone if you don’t have a personality. Remember to take care of yourself and love yourself no matter what your grade is.
