I am most excited about the high school and college credits that I am slowly accumulating throughout high school from the free college-level courses, which can help me graduate early and pay less tuition during college. There’s not much that I’m trying for the first time besides the student blog, which is something that I have not participated in before, so I’m excited for the new experience! I believe that my schedule reflects my goals because I want to explore more of my hobbies and interests during this time, that way, I can figure out some possible careers I can go into in the future.
As for my schedule, I am taking one college course in place of a high school course, and four high school courses, I believe, along with the student blog. I am currently taking ENG 101, my college course, Algebra 2, Physical Science, Government, and Game Design 1B. I usually work on the easy assignments first, which are usually Physical Science and Government, because it might just involve reading things and doing short quizzes. However, this week, it’s a density lab report for Physical Science and a government leaders digital ‘lookbook’ for Government. Needless to say. those assignments are taking a bit longer. I do join live lessons pretty regularly, while missing some of them due to events happening outside of school, which is not too often. I only have student blog as a club, but I have participated in gaming club for 9th grade and the Book Sparks club for 10th grade, both I strongly recommend for others in high school here.
Now, moving onto how I stay on track in school, I set goals for myself by doing the easy assignments first and getting them out of the way so that when I start the hard stuff, it won’t put me behind in the overall schoolwork when I inevitably take too long to finish the hard assignment. I do have a hard time putting away distractions, and I don’t have many methods for it besides turning off my phone and hiding it somewhere, but even then. I could still get distracted through my computer, or just through my pure occasional inability to just focus on writing or making something. What usually gets me to complete something on time is stress and a deadline coming up soon, so I get stressed pretty regularly every week, unless I have a small workload, which makes me feel less stressed and more…..happy, I suppose! At least I’d be able to not do anything during the weekend if that was the case! My routine has been relatively the same this semester, but I could definitely do with some improvements, haha!
Just a small reminder for anyone reading this, it is perfectly okay to experiment with schedules! You don’t have to do it like I do it iust because it works for me, because it might not always work for you! Maybe you actually like to do the harder assignments first so that afterwards, you can feel more relaxed and be able to do the easy assignments without the stress of having to do the harder ones! Luckily for anyone who goes to high school at ASUPD, live lessons are usually optional (but are recorded, and
