The Public Health Club is one of the newer clubs at ASU Prep Digital, and it covers a lot of interesting topics that immediately caught my eye, like healthcare, science, and of course, public health! It’s a really good club to join if you’re interested in public health or if you just enjoy learning about real world issues.
This club is new for the 2025-2026 school year, so it’s a good time to join without feeling like you missed anything.
Each meeting dives into public health topics, recent discoveries, and different career paths you might not have heard about before. Think of it like this: instead of just reading about biology in a textbook, you’re looking at how it affects entire communities. We’re talking about everything from how diseases spread to how mental health resources are shared in schools.
It’s basically taking the science we learn in class and applying it to the actual world we live in.
They’re also planning to bring in guest speakers and do career spotlights, which honestly might be the coolest part. You’ll get to hear from people who actually work in healthcare or science and learn what those jobs are really like. It’s the kind of thing that makes you go, “Oh wait… I could actually do this someday.”
Another bonus is that the club is open to everyone. You don’t need any experience, and you don’t have to already know a ton about public health. Whether you’re super interested or just a little curious, you can still join, participate, and learn something new. It’s a low pressure way to build up your leadership and communication skills while hanging out with people who care about the same stuff you do.
If you want a club that’s educational but also interesting, the Public Health Club is definitely worth checking out!
