The beginning of a new semester can bring many feelings. From excited to stressed, from happy to sad. But anyway you look at it, it’s a chance to try and do better at something you didn’t do so well last semester. The thing I want to improve on is taking care of myself.
The reason I want to improve in this is that stressing yourself out continuously doesn’t only affect your mental health but also your physical health. Which I unluckily had to experience for three years. Where it felt like my stomach was being twisted into knots every time I tried to eat because of how stressed out I was and how constantly I was stressed out. So my goal for the last few years has always been to be less stressed out and more careful with myself.
My plan to try and improve on this is to allow myself to take breaks when I need it. Also to allow myself to step back and be proud of what I accomplished and how well I’m doing. So for this, I’ve started writing down goals. I want to accomplish something in a month that doesn’t include school and it’s just purely things I get to control such as reading three books, drawing another chapter of my comic, working on music in my free time. Things that I enjoy doing for myself.
Well, it might not be the first thing people think of for a new semester. I do think thinking about yourself more and how stressed out you may be is an important factor to bring into every day of your life and especially a new beginning of something that can be stressful. Even if it isn’t your whole point of a new semester or your whole goal, try and add onto things such as time, management organization, motivation, and/or confidence. Thank you for reading and remember
you can’t help anyone if you don’t help yourself. Cat out! 😺✌️
